Organisation

According to the statutes of the EOA, the two Governing Bodies are the General Assembly and the Executive Board. In addition to these, Commissions are set up by the General Assembly to work on specific subjects. There are currently four Commissions.

General Assembly

The General Assembly is the supreme executive body of the EOA. Members are the delegates of all member organisations. The General Assembly meets once a year to make decisions on all key matters. The General Assembly listens to reports from the Executive Board and other parties, determines the budget and approves the actions of the Executive Board. Each member has one vote in the elections.

Commissions

Communication Commission

The aim of this commission is to promote the EOA. Therefore, the commission is in charge of the corporate image of the EOA. It is responsible for coordinating campaigns and developing a communication plan (strategy, actions, tools). The members implement actions via web, newsletter, social media, print, media, and press. The purpose of this commission is also to provide corporate communication tools and expertise to other EOA commissions.

Development and Cooperation Commission

The aim of this commission is to build partnerships and cooperation with National Olympic Academies from Europe, International Sports Federations and others European and international institutions. Its other responsibility is to construct strategic plans for the growth and development of the EOA. The Development and Cooperation Commission will prepare a mid-term and long-term strategic plan regarding the duties of the EOA according to its statutes.

Olympic Education Commission

The aim of the Olympic Education Commission is to work on the promotion of Olympic values based on education, and to provide strategic guidance on EOA Olympic Education programs. The responsibilities of the Olympic Education Commission are to advise on the development and implementation of an Olympic values education strategy, on the dissemination of the Olympic values, and on the integration of education values in EOA programs.

Olympic Heritage Commission

The aim of this commission is to emphasize what happened in the Olympic world in the past, and to create programs and actions to enable the next generation to capitalize on this heritage. This commission will also study the history of the Olympic movement, and make recommendations regarding preservation and heritage of the Olympic movement and Olympism, with a view to promote Olympic ideals as widely as possible.
